The Preliminary Phase of the Volleyball Nations League 2022 is coming to an end in spectacular fashion this week with matches taking place in two of the most long-standing host cities of international volleyball, Osaka in Japan and Gdansk in Poland.

The battles at the top of the standings for the eight spots in the VNL Finals - and at the bottom for the right to return to the tournament in 2023 - have generated some remarkable moments, and here’s this week’s selection of the photos of what's been taking place on and off the courts.
