Defending champions Cucine Lube Civitanova moved closer to the top of the table in the Italian men's league after a very solid 3-0 (25-19, 25-16, 25-17) sweep of Vero Volley Monza on Sunday evening.

Marlon Yant led Lube to a sweep of Monza that keeps them in the race for the top of the Italian league.
The match high of 19 points came from 20-year-old Cuban Marlon Yant who attacked for 74% (17/23) and also greatly contributed in reception - though it was Ivan Zaytsev who scored 15 points including five aces who was named MVP of the match.
Lube are now within four points of table leaders Sir Safety Conad Perugia, 41 points to 37, with both havong played 15 matches.

The weekend's action included matches of Round 24 of the league, brought forward from the originally scheduled date of 6 March - though two games were still postoponed, Perugia v Gas Sales Bluenergy Piacenza and Allianz Milan v Leo Shoes PerkinElmer Modena to play on another date.
Itas Trentino also kept up with the leaders and remain in third place (though now four points behind Lube) after shutting out Consar RCM Ravenna 3-0 (26-24, 25-21, 25-14).
Ravenna rallied from 24-21 down in the first to tie the score, but Trentino finished it off on their next two tries.
An incredible 88% (15/17) attacking efficiency for a match high of 17 points by MVP of the match Matey Kaziyski of Bulgaria, plus a staggering six blocks by Serbia's Marco Podrascanin to reach 1,000 in his Italian league career, clinched the deal for Trentino.
In other weekend action, Croatia's Petar Dirlic led Top Volley Cisterna with a match high of 20 points as they defeated Gioiella Prisma Taranto 3-1 (22-25, 25-14, 25-23, 25-15) at home for a critical three points that see them climb to ninth place in the standings.
And Verona Volley dealt with Kioene Padova 3-1 (22-25, 25-18, 25-20, 25-21) with Slovenia's Rok Mozic scoring a match high of 30 points and picking up the MVP of the match award for his 56% (22/39) attacking efficiency plus five aces and three blocks.
